About the Opportunity
We are seeking a technical expert and customer-focused mindset Application Support Officer who will provide customer service-focused user support across various applications and devices. In this role, you will not only assist users with their technical needs but also implement usability and cybersecurity improvements to ensure the seamless functioning of our systems. Your efforts will directly contribute to achieving the organisation’s corporate objectives and meeting key business priorities.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Recording, responding to, and resolving IT support requests while delivering high-quality customer service in line with agreed SLAs.
- Providing Level 1-2 support for SaaS platforms, desktop software, and end-user device applications.
- Managing user accounts, including setup, modifications, and troubleshooting access issues (Active Directory and applications).
- Creating and maintaining integration solutions between various software platforms.
- Assisting with Microsoft 365 and application admin tools to implement cybersecurity improvements and meet compliance obligations.
- Liaising with hardware and software vendors for purchasing, support, subscription, and maintenance issues.
- Planning, delivering, and documenting ICT projects as the project manager, while providing support for projects led by other departments.
- Coordinating with Managed Service Providers or contractors to ensure the timely resolution of complex technical issues and maintain service quality.
- Maintaining detailed records of configurations, operations, and maintenance activities, including documenting procedures.
- Implementing and following controls to manage ICT-related risks effectively.

About You
To excel in this role you will bring:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Information Technology or other related qualification
- Excellent standard of IT literacy and advanced computer skills.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, including a proven ability to set priorities, plan and organise workloads, and balance competing priorities to achieve specific objectives in the most efficient way possible, within the resources available.
- Current and maintained NSW Driver’s Licence.
- Current and maintained clear national police history check.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Demonstrated 1-2 years experience in ICT.
- Demonstrated understanding of information technology legislation, standards, policies and procedures in the NSW public sector, preferably in the Local Government context.
- Knowledge of the role, functions, and responsibilities of Local Government.

The role has been evaluated as being Grade 11 of the Council's salary structure and offers a competitive salary circa $72,500 - $83,400 (depending on skills and experience) plus on-call allowances, super and salary packaging options to increase your take-home pay.
