About the Opportunity
Parkes Shire Council is offering traineeship opportunities for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals looking to gain on-the-job experience and practical knowledge while being paid and working towards a nationally accredited qualification. This is a great way to kick-start your career in your chosen profession.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Civil Engineering Cadet in their penultimate or final year of part-time study to join our team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience while supporting the delivery of a wide range of civil engineering projects, all while balancing full-time work with part-time study.

About our Cadet, Apprentice and Trainee (CAT) Program 2025
Parkes Shire Council is offering cadetship, apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for highly motivated and enthusiastic people looking to gain on-the-job experience and practical knowledge whilst working towards a nationally accredited qualification through a Registered Training Organisation.
The CAT Program provides you with the opportunity to gain on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring from experienced professionals, with all training and study costs paid for by Council. The programs run from two (2) to eight (8) years in duration, depending on the level of qualification being undertaken.

Essential Requirement
- Currently enrolled in or studying a Degree of Engineering (or equivalent) in their penultimate or final year
Licences
You must hold the following:
- NSW Provisional or Full Driver's Licence
- SafeWork NSW Construction Induction (White Card)
