About the Opportunity

Parkes Shire Council has a permanent opportunity for a highly organised, collaborative and results-focused professional to join our Events and Festivals team as our Festivals Producer. 

In this exciting and high-profile role, you will be responsible for coordinating the effective planning, programming and delivery of our two signature festivals, the Parkes Elvis Festival and Trundle ABBA Festival, and other major events ensuring all aspects of both festivals and events are well managed, milestones are met, risks are identified and managed, and key deliverables are achieved.

Remuneration and Benefits

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Parkes Shire Council's policies and conditions of employment. 

The role has been evaluated as being within Grade 14 of Council's salary structure with remuneration to be negotiated and determined upon the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful candidate.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Vocational qualification/s in Event Management, Marketing, Project Management, Tourism or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in event management, including concept development, production, risk management, marketing, administration and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in financial management in an event context, including budget preparation, procurement, budget monitoring, milestone reporting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills, including a proven ability to set priorities, plan and organise workloads and balance competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to foster quality working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, performers, business/industry organisations and community groups.
  • Advanced written communication skills and demonstrated ability to prepare a wide range of communication materials, including reports, correspondence, submissions, policies, procedures and other corporate documents.
  • Flexibility and willingness to attend meetings and events outside of business hours.
  • Excellent standard of IT literacy and advanced computer and software skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications.
  • Current and maintained NSW Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)

It will be highly desirable if you possess any of the following:

  • Tertiary qualification/s in Event Management, Marketing, Public Relations or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of the role, functions and responsibilities of Local Government

  • Council may also check authenticity of certificates and qualifications
  • Provide the applicable Working with Children Check number as the role may involve working with children at events and festivals
